Up up up and away ...

Well here we are, in our second day of ‘Team Dino Testing’, it’s been both terrifying and exciting – terrifying that we didn’t know what response we were going to get and wether or not the kids would like DinoSawUs and exciting that they have been so positive and want to keep exploring.

It’s heartening to get such a positive response so early and the team at DinoSawUs has worked incredibly hard to get our ‘world’ out to the kids – the team at DinoSawUs ROCK.

Bring on the weekend…

T minus 5 days ....

Only five days to go to our ‘Team Dino’ testers release is out there, it’s great to have a small group of really cool kids that want to become part of DinoSawUs and are willing to give their feed-back and comments that will help show us the way – well we hope we’re going in the right direction and we’ll be able to gauge pretty quickly if we are or not.

We are making a start with a pretty small world but with some awesome stuff to tickly the fancy of all the kids making up our ‘Team Dino’ testers. The team is pretty confident we are onto something and the DinoSawUs production line is churning out the coolest stuff.

Job is ON.

Two halves

What fun being able to work on an online kids world, you get to have some pretty cool conversations with kids and the feed-back is always very honest and straight to the point. I was told in no-uncertain terms while walking to school on the ‘walking school bus’ that Dinosaurs sucked …. Look’s like that’s one eight year old that won’t be visiting us – although I’m sure he will venture a look at sometime. I have found it really interesting that there are two camps of opinion out there when it comes to DinoSawUs – they either think we are completely deranged for even going down the path and the other side think it’s the best thing since sliced bread – not too many people in the middle really.

Well lets wait and see which side was right, our D-day is approaching and I know the side I would like to be right….

Later.

Team Dino

What a week, the highs and lows of being in business …. The economic climate is starting is becoming a pain in the butt and we now have to progress DinoSawUs a bit quicker than I was anticipating, its all hands to the pumps and the team is amped, we had some excellent wins this week with five of the scenes ready to rock and roll, loads of Bruno’s cruising around, the tele-porter rocking-and-rolling and the characters personalities done and dusted. I really feel we now have something to start showing the kids and something that will get them excited – which is what this whole thing is all about …. It’s got to be fun.

Take a look at the first scene from chapter 1 of the ‘five’ …. It’s alive

Big Ups Team Dino

Rocking in Qatar

I’ve just had a fantastic call with our business partners in Qatar, nothing to do with the super choice and jobs on Dinosaur World we are creating but never-the-less another reason to celebrate being in business. It’s interesting that two quite different cultures find a middle ground and a common way to work together, I’m very excited about the prospects of working with our friends in Qatar, more so for learning about business in another part of the world and the culture that we will be immersed in – it’s what keeps us going and the more that we can be stimulated in our business life the more that flows into our personal lives, must keep the brain ticking over and healthy.

Taking Shape

It’s all go here at the Dino Lab, we got very excited on Friday when Ninja-Saw-Us got our ‘own’ dino’s up and moving around the home scene – it’s was fantastic to see all the hard work he has put into the architecture come to fruition and it was very cool to see the Dino-Saw-Us take a large step into reality.

Beside the technical side of life Shells-Saw-Us had made pretty impressive progress on the story and the Ferocious Five have been created, the first adventure is great fun and will give the world a real life to it – it now seems to be ‘living’. The Dino-Saw-Us news is taking shape and we are looing forward to the first feedback from the ‘kids on the block’ – I’m sure they will tell us if it is good or not. Will-a-meana is making great progress on animating the scenes and the first one will be handed over tomorrow to ‘plug-in’… bring it on.

The school is scheduled for ‘foundations down’ in two weeks but there is a heap of pre-work that’s needed, we have been copy-writing furiously and have enough to initially make a start but this is an enormous task and one that we have underestimated.

Starting the new year

After spending the last few weeks trying not to think about DinoSawUs I back onboard and excited about what the new year will have installed for us, we start it with a little bit of trepidation and allot of optimism. I’ve seen for the first time the inside of the diner and the last chance cafĂ©’ and they are have exceeded my expectations – it’s great having and working with such a cleaver bunch of people. Ninja-Saw-Us has a bit of a flat forehead from banging it against his desk over the past few weeks but finally feels now that the architecture is heading in the right direction.

Looking forward to tomorrow already, will spend tonight looking for a new game to customise for the lava rapids … this is the fun part.

Later slaters.
